Yarn count
Generally speaking, yarn count is the unit used to measure the thickness of yarn. The larger the number, the finer the yarn, the smoother the texture of the wool and the higher the grade. But fabric count and fabric quality are not necessarily related. Fabrics with more than 100 counts can be called “super”. The concept of count is more applicable to worsted fabrics, but it is not significant for coarse fabrics, such as Harris Tweed, which is a coarse fabric with very low count.
High-count
High count and high density generally represent the texture of cotton fabrics. “High count” refers to the high count of yarn used in fabrics, such as cotton yarn JC60S, JC80S, JC100S, JC120S, JC160S, JC260S, etc., the British yarn count unit, the larger the number means the finer the yarn count. From the production process, the higher the yarn count, the longer the cotton lint used for spinning, such as the commonly known “long-staple cotton” 또는 “Egyptian long-staple cotton”, so that the yarn is uniform, high flexibility and luster.
High Density
In each square inch of fabric, the warp yarn is called warp yarn and the weft yarn is called weft yarn, and the sum of the number of warp yarn and weft yarn is the density of the fabric. Usually “high density” refers to the high density of warp and weft yarns, that is, the number of yarns per unit area of the fabric, for example: 300 / square inch, 400 / square inch, 600 / square inch, 1000 / square inch, 12,000 / square inch, etc., the higher the count of yarn to The higher the yarn count, the higher the density of the fabric.
무지
Warp and weft yarns are interwoven every other yarn, so the fabric is called plain fabric. Features are, interweaving point more, texture brace, front and back appearance effect is the same, the fabric is lighter and thinner, good breathability, count in about 30, the price is also relatively civilian.
능직물
Warp and weft yarns are interwoven at least once every two yarns, and the organization of the fabric can be changed by increasing or decreasing the warp and weft interweaving points, collectively known as twill fabric. Features are positive and negative, interweaving point less, longer floating line, feel soft, fabric density is higher, the product is thicker, three-dimensional sense is stronger. The count is 30, 40, 60, etc.
Color weaving
Color weaving is the use of pre-dyed yarn when weaving into cloth, instead of weaving the yarn into white fabric and then printing and dyeing the color. Color weave fabric color uniformity without color difference, color fastness will be better, not easy to fade.
Jacquard fabric: relative to “printing” 그리고 “embroidery”, refers to the fabric in the weaving, with warp and weft tissue changes to form patterns, jacquard fabric requires fine yarn count, the raw material cotton requirements are very high.
